Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next film with Aanand L Rai co-starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. However, one cannot forget his last debacle Jab Harry met Sejal directed by Imtiaz Ali. Imtiaz’s last films like Highway and Tamasha were critically acclaimed and so there were high hopes on SRK’s JHMS. The film was not much appreciated by the fans and the critics thus allowing the film to make a huge loss in its box office collections. Now, to make up for it, Shah Rukh Khan decided to refund 30% to the distributors as reported in Bollywood Hungama.
The makers were expecting to collect at least Rs 100 crores at the box office. However, it ended up raking in only Rs 62.33 crore which clearly resulted in a failure at the box office. SRK has refunded 15% to NH Studioz and 30% to other distributors. Just a few weeks ago, the distributors faced a loss because of Salman Khan starrer Tubelight which also tanked at the box office. This made them skeptical about JHMS. But as Salman Khan refunded distributors, so was SRK asked to do the same. Also Read: Shah Rukh Khan’s TED Talks India: Here’s All That You Can Expect
