Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in Salman Khan’s Tubelight has been a talking point ever since fans got to know about the big on screen reunion. I was excited too to see the two Khans in the same frame. However, the scene in itself is not much to talk about. While both the Khans were good together, there is something so distinct about SRK’s magician avatar that it stays with you long after the film.
SRK plays magician GoGo Pasha in Tubelight, who comes to the town of Jagatpura, Kumaon and reignites the belief and power of ‘Yakeen’ (faith) in Laxman’s (Salman) heart. The news and pictures of SRK sporting a tattoo on the right side of his face for the role have been out. But it is only when I saw him in all his glory on 70 mm last night that I realized something really interesting about his GoGo Pasha. Shah Rukh Khan in Tubelight
Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow
SRK will instantly remind you of Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean and make you wish for a desi version of Hollywood’s fantasy swashbuckler films. His outfit – especially the jacket, his kohl lined eyes and his entire demeanor was very similar to Jack Sparrow. Apart from the trademark bandana/hat and the braided long hair, he got everything else on fleek.
After seeing Shah Rukh Khan in Tubelight and how he can perfectly nail the Jack Sparrow role, you’d really really want a Bollywood remake of Pirates of the Caribbean! Who is with me here? Comment below and share your opinion.
