Anurag Kashyap‘s directorial venture, Mukkabaaz starring Vineet Singh and debutante Zoya Hussain in the lead, is all set to release on January 12, 2018. This is the first of the two films, which will have Kashyap and Anand L Rai collaborate as a director-producer duo. With just a few days remaining for the film’s release, the makers of the film are out promoting the film. The socio-political love story has already elicited rave reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival (where it had its world premiere) and at the Jio Mami Mumbai Festival. Needless to say, fans of Kashyap’s work, are awaiting the release with bated breath. What’s endearing to see is that Bollywood actors are also doing their bit to promote the film. Well, we are talking about Shah Rukh Khan who came up with a unique way to promote the film.
The actor has mixed the Mukkabaaz sound track, Paintraa by Nucelya, with the visuals of one of his classic films, Baazigar and made a perfect mashup video to promote the film. To say that SRK attempted to promote Mukkabaaz in a true blue Baazigar style wouldn’t be entirely wrong. He took to his Instagram profile to share the video. He wrote, “#Mukkabaaz + Baazigar = Mukkabaazigar… all the best team for Mukkabaazi… @aanandlrai @cypplofficial @anuragkashyap10”. Not just SRK, even Ayushmann Khurrana made a mashup video, of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and Mukkabaaz and shared it on the picture video sharing app. He wrote, “#MukkabaazOn12thJan will blow your mind. Have always been a fan of @anuragkashyap10 . And he looks in top form, just like @itsvineetsingh who’s aced boxing in the process. Salute @aanandlrai sir for supporting cinema of wide mix. Well, the common connect between Shah Rukh Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and Mukkabaaz is Anand L Rai. While SRK’s upcoming film, Zero, is being helmed by Rai, Ayushmann-Bhumi Pednekar’s social comedy on erectile dysfunction was produced by the eminent filmmaker/producer. It’s truly heartwarming to see actors come on board to promote the film. The mashup videos are truly an interesting promotional strategy, don’t you think? The film is a love story, of a UP-based boxer, named Shravan Singh (essayed by Vineet Singh) belonging to Kshatriya caste and Sunaina Mishra (Zoya) belonging to Brahmin caste.
