Rumours were rife that megastar Shah Rukh Khan had quit Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala’s production, Saare Jahan Se Achcha, after the debacle of Zero, at the box office. The new talk going around was that SRK had stepped out of the Rakesh Sharma biopic and headed towards Farhan Akhtar‘s Don 3. Nipping these rumours in the bud, writer Anjum Rajabali confirmed that King Khan is very much part of the upcoming movie.

An entertainment portal approached Anjum to ask if SRK is no longer a part of Saare Jahaan Se Achcha, to which Anjum replied through a text message and said, “It is fake news.” Prior to the rumours, Shah Rukh had hinted of being a part of it soon and later spoken about it, revealing that the script was beautiful and that he would do the film when the team figured out the timing.

Actor Aamir Khan too had spoken about the movie, saying the script and the story were fascinating and that he had called up SRK asking him to hear the wonderful script. Him mentioning that he was glad SRK liked the script and that he had taken it up then had made fans all the more eager for this one.

Though producer Siddharth Roy Kapur had stated in an earlier interview that an official announcement would be made soon, Farhan Akhtar’s teasing about a special announcement he wanted to make at Gully Boy’s trailer launch, had led many to believe that it might be about Don 3. However, it is now believed to be about Farhan’s upcoming boxing drama Toofan with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and we are still unsure whether Shah Rukh will star in Don 3 first before starting with the space drama.

Saare Jahaan Se Achcha is a Mahesh Mathai directorial, revolving around the story of the famous pilot, Rakesh Sharma, who was the first Indian to travel to space.
