Latest buzz is that Shah Rukh Khan’s forthcoming film Fan will have no songs in it. While most of the Bollywood films follow the same song-and-dance routine without which the film rather seems incomplete, SRK’s Fan will defy the age-old formula.
A source from the production reveals, “There are no songs in the film. It’s a very content driven emotional tale and it does not need the typical Bollywood naach-gaana. Maneesh was very clear about that from day one. There will be two songs made purely for promotional purposes but they won’t be there in the screenplay.” The makers feel that the trademark song and dance routine will dilute the content of the film and hence have decided to avoid it, reports DNA. Lately a couple of films have managed to survive at the Box Office without having songs in them. NH10 and Baby to be named a few. And now, with Yash Raj’s Fan is the latest to join the bandwagon.
Expected to release in the first half of 2016, we hear the makers are eyeing for a release around Good Friday next year. “It might release on March 25- Good Friday itself or the week after, that is on April 1. But nothing has been finalised. Adi, SRK and Maneesh are still deciding what will give their film the best window and will make an official announcement soon.”
