Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor got the swine flu in Rajkot on the sets of her film with superstar Salman Khan, titled Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Amidst rumours that Sonam only had a viral fever, there were reports with quotes from the doctors in Rajkot that the actress has indeed caught the H1N1 or swine flu virus that has the entire country in its spell. (UPDATE: Salman Khan tests negative for swine flu!)
Sonam had been admitted to the Sterling Hospital in Rajkot but has been reportedly flown back to Mumbai now. Sonam got the disease from her gym instructor, says Dr Pankaj Rathore.
ANI quotes Dr Pankaj Rathore as saying, “Tests revealed that Sonam Kapoor had tested positive for swine flu, she is stable now. It seems she got infected with the virus from her gym trainer who too has tested positive.” (MUST READ: Swine Flu H1N1: Signs, symptoms, diagnosis and prevention of the deadly H1N1 virus)
So the logical question now is: Shouldn’t Sonam’s co-star Salman Khan, director Sooraj Barrjatya and the rest of the cast and crew of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo be tested for the dreaded H1N1 disease as well? We think Salman needs to undergo the test right away and take all precautions for his family members as well!
Meanwhile, a Bollywood family – filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, his wife Anupama Chopra and their son Agni Chopra – have been infected with the swine flu. While the producer-director and Agni are in hospital, Anupama is at home.
We wish all of them a speedy recovery! And Salman Khan should take the swine flu test ASAP!
