Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, which released on September 1 piqued interest right from the day when the trailer was dropped upon us. Considering the film talks about the sex-related problem called erectile dysfunction that some men face, everyone was curious to see the film. But it was surprising when Shubh Mangal Saavdhan opened slow at the box office and managed to earn only Rs 2.71 crore on the first day. Thankfully, the film showed an upward trend, as the business doubled up by the end of the second day.

The Saturday box office figures out and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has managed to earn Rs 5.56 crore on day two thus taking it’s total collection for now to Rs. 8.27 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#ShubhMangalSaavdhan has EXCELLENT Sat… Biz doubles actually… Fri 2.71 cr, Sat 5.56 cr. Total: ₹ 8.27 cr. India biz. (sic)”. Check out Taran’s post right here:

Will it continue to show a growth by the end of the weekend? Well, we’ll just have to wait for one more day to find that out. ALSO READ: Shubh Mangal Saavdhan Movie Review: An Arousing Foreplay That Ends In A Disappointing Climax

Our in-house film critic, Smrity Sharma in her 2.5 star review wrote, “Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s chemistry and effortless performances save the film from being a drag affair. However, they are getting repetitive with the kind of roles and characters they are choosing to do. I really hope they try something new the next time.” She also added, “It is an arousing foreplay that doesn’t give you the climax you hoped for but leaves you with a happy ending.”
