The Ayushmann Khurrana – Bhumi Pednekar starrer Shubh Mangal Saavdhan showed a great response with its trailer which hit all the right spots to out funny bone. However, with the film’s message, the makers would’ve liked the film to do more than just tickle the funny bones of the audience. And it did indeed, after the scare of its opening day collections. On the opening day, the film made 2.71 crore.
However, the film garnered more viewers on Saturday as the film made a good Rs 5.56 crore, which brought its total to Rs 8.27 crore. On Sunday, the film added a further Rs __ to round up its first weekend earnings to Rs __. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote in his tweet:
Our in-house film critic, Smrity Sharma wrote in her review: “Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s chemistry and effortless performances save the film from being a drag affair. However, they are getting repetitive with the kind of roles and characters they are choosing to do. I really hope they try something new the next time.” She also added, “It is an arousing foreplay that doesn’t give you the climax you hoped for but leaves you with a happy ending.”The film received a 2.5 star rating in the India.com review.
