The crowds are loving the slice of life comedy with its subtle double meaning comedy that the Ayushmann Khurrana – Bhumi Pednekar starrer Shubh Mangal Saavdhan brings. The box office numbers are coming much to the delight of the makers of the film, as the film ensures it spreads the message it originally intended to put across with their film. The film is seeing an upwards trend even in the weekday period, which is a very good sign when it comes to moolah.
The film’s opening day figures gave a real scare to the makers when it turned up with only Rs 2.71 crore. However, some good reviews and word of mouth saw things changing in the weekend and the film is now the talk of the town. After making Rs 11.75 crore in the weekend, we wondered if the film will survive the weekday test, being in direct competition with Ajay Devgn’s Baadshaho (which stands at Rs 56.24 crore). However, the film is exceeding expectations. The film made Rs 2.53 on Monday, and leaped to Rs 2.85 crore on Tuesday, bringing the total to Rs 19.84 crore. The higher numbers are also a result of the holiday that was due to the end of Ganesh Chaturthi.
The film addresses the concern of erectile dysfunction in males. Ayushmann Khurrana’s film is is also competing with another film of his own in Bareilly Ki Barfi, which made which has made Rs 30.33 crore as of yet. The film produced by Aanand L Rai and directed by R S Prasanna released last Friday on September 1, 2017.
