This year has been a lucky one for Soha Ali Khan. From becoming a mother to a beautiful baby girl, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, to turning author with her book, The Perils Of Being Moderately Famous, the diva has donned many hats for sure. And now, the actress is reportedly gearing up to turn producer for a biopic on veteran criminal lawyer, Ram Jethmalani’s life. Reports indicate that the actress along with her husband Kunal Kemmu, has started a production company titled Renegade Films and their first film will be the biopic, which will be co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The veteran lawyer has been a part of many cases, prominent among which were KM Nanavati vs State of Maharashtra case in 1959, LK Advani’s defence in the Hawala scam among others.

Soha spoke about the reason behind choosing this script at a great length with a news agency. She said, “It’s a fascinating life story because Mr. Jethmalani is now 94 years old. He has had a career of over 70 years, and look at the people who he has represented. They range from politicians to notorious criminals… The task is not the story to tell, but the parts we will have to leave out or what we don’t tell. And every bit is exciting.” Furthermore, there’s a buzz doing the rounds that husband, Kunal Kemmu, will be essaying the lawyer in the film. The film is currently in its scripting stage, which is quite challenging in itself as far as biopics are concerned. The actress-turned-author said, “We have a good partner in Ronnie Screwvala. Once we have a script ready, we will be locking a director, and once we have a captain to the ship, we will go full steam. The film is expected to go in production sometime next year. For the uninitiated, Jethmalani is India’s leading criminal lawyer, who has fought many high profile cases in his seven decade long career. Meanwhile, on the professional front, Soha will be seen next in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 that also stars Sanjay Dutt, Chitrangada Singh, Nafisa Ali and Kabir Bedi in pivotal roles.
