It is after a gap of five years that she did this thriller movie directed by Ravi Udyawar. ‘English Vinglish’ directed by Gauri Shinde was the ultimate comeback films. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
The world’s most beautiful and successful actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had taken a sabbatical break from acting. The movie before that which she did was ‘Guzaarish’ that released in 2010. And then after five years she made a comeback with ‘Jazbaa’ which revolved around the story of a lawyer whose daughter gets kidnapped. But for her it wasn’t a comeback. At the film’s trailer launch she had said, “I don’t see or feel that I have been absent. After starring in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s blockbuster film ‘Devdas’ which released in 2002, Madhuri Dixit-Nene took a sabbatical break for five years. Madhuri aka the Dhak Dhak Girl had taken this much needed break to raise her kids. And then in 2007 she returned with the musical drama ‘Aaja Nachle’. Directed by Anil Mehta, though the actress received praises for her performance the film miserably failed at the box office. Karisma Kapoor is one of the popular actresses of the nineties. She had made her acting debut in 1991 with the romantic drama ‘Prem Qaidi’. Lolo as she is fondly called, was just 17-year-old when she entered the industry and she felt things were made tough for her. In a statement she had said, “Nobody gave me a 17-year-old credit for doing my job reasonably well.” With time the actress had hits and flops. In 2003 she tied the knot with Delhi-based industrialist Sunjay Kapur and then took a break for nine years. While one of her old, incomplete film ‘Mere Jeevan Saathi’ was released in 2006, she technically made a comeback in the year 2012 with ‘Dangerous Ishhq’ and it wasn’t successfull at the box office. Veteran actress Raveena Tandon holds some hit films in her kitty. She was one of the most sought after actresses in the nineties. In 2004 Raveena tied the knot with beau Anil Thadani, a film distributor. Her long-delayed movie ‘Sandwich’ directed by Anees Bazmee was released in 2006 and then in 2011 Raveena made a significant comeback with ‘Bbuddah… Hoga Terra Baap’ that starred Amitabh Bachchan. In 2014 she did a Telugu movie but her technical comeback film in Bollywood would be ‘Maatr’ which released this year.Though it wasn’t a box office hit, the actress left a great impact on the audience with her amazing performance.
