Veteran Bollywood actors, Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi, who passed away recently, featured in the In Memoriam section at the 90th Academy Awards today. Academy Awards pays tribute to artistes Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor, who have given some memorable films in Bollywood and I must say, it’s a beautiful gesture by them indeed.

Shashi Kapoor, besides his Bollywood superstar persona, was an active figure in international cinema working in films such as ‘The Householder’, ‘Shakespeare Wallah’, ‘The Guru’, ‘Bombay Talkie’ and ‘In Custody’, while Sridevi, a pan Indian star, died on February 24 in Dubai suddenly, leaving fans and family shocked. The actress was just 54-years-old.

Soon after this heartwarming gesture by Oscars, Twitter was flooded with overwhelming reactions from Bollywood celebs and fans. While Vidya Balan tweeted, “The Oscars paid tribute to our beloved Sridevi…#YourLegacyLivesOn,” Arjun Rampal wrote, “Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor in Oscars Memoriam. What true great stars we have lost. #oscars90.” Even Varun Dhawan took to his micro-blogging site to write, “So amazing to see the #oscars pay respect to #shashikapoor and #sridevi #Oscar90” ALSO READ: Keith Sequeira And Rochelle Rao Finally Become Man And Wife
