The most awaited trailer of Salman Khan’s Sultan is finally out. The powerful, action packed trailer gives us a hint of what the upcoming Aditya Chopra film has in store for us. The movie has been in debate ever since the makers announced the film. Salman Khan plays a Haryanvi wrestler in the film and hence a lot of fight sequences (inside the ring) can be seen. The superstar had a high time pumping up his body and toning himself to look like a wrestler. Anushka Sharma has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Khan in Sultan. Although the trailer of Sultan looks promising, it failed to create an impact for us. Here are 6 things that we didn’t like about the upcoming Salman Khan & Anushka Sharma starrer;
1. Salman Khan:
After Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman Khan revived his image as an actor. However, he sees to be taking the naïve villager look a step ahead with Sultan. Although, he doesn’t play an innocent man in the film, to some extent his look reminds you of Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi. Moreover, Salman tried to adapt the typical Haryanvi accent which looks highly fake. His body language and moves while performing stunts in the ring don’t look convincingly real as well.
2. Anushka Sharma:
This is the first time Anushka Sharma is sharing screen space with Salman Khan. She plays a female wrestler and Salman’s love interest in Sultan. The leggy lass had taken special training from experts to get her moves right. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see much of her in the trailer. Since it is common for Salman Khan to have major screen space in his films, we so hope Anushka’s character gets a good visibility too.
3. Predictable story line:
Sultan seems to be a blend of Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De, Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom and Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The movie begins with Salman thriving towards success and going back to zero after success gets into his head. He sets out on a journey to find a new start to his career after a long break. And he succeeds. That so like Bollywood. (ALSO READ: Salman Khan’s Sultan looks like nothing but a khichdi of Bollywood movies. And not a good khichdi at that.)
4. Clichéd dialogues:
Although dialogues of Salman Khan Film have become cult statements for his fans, the ones from Sultan are not any different either. They sound so melodramatic and filmy. For instance when Sultan sees Aarfa fighting for the first time, he couldn’t stop himself from saying, “Kya ladki hai. Jaise doctor ki shaadi doctor se hove hai, engineer ki engineer se, pehalwaan ki Jodi pehalwaan se banegi na. Main issi se shaadi manaunga”
5. A proper Salman Khan film:
Salman Khan has always been counted up as an entertainer whose meaningless films also break records at the box office. Such is his fan following that they happily go ahead to watch every film that bhai stars in. Sultan is another film that will join the superstar’s endless list of blockbusters for sure.
6. Not so impactful:
Whenever you watch a movie or a trailer, it stays with you at least for some time. But Salman Khan’s Sultan fails to create that impact in the first go itself. You see Sultan’s journey full of drama, action and emotions on screen but you fail to relate to it. (ALSO READ: Sultan: 5 things to expect from Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer)
