The most awaited Tamil film 96 starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan, directed by C. Prem Kumar has finally dropped the trailer and just like the teaser, this too will leave you intrigued.

The trailer starts with Vijay and Trisha’s school days and then jumps back and forth in time showing how the two reunite after a long gap and the bond they share. It is no ordinary love story as we can see. The scenes from their school days and the present are somehow connected. The trailer ends on a tensed environment leaving the audience waiting eagerly for the release.

The trailer will remind you of Trisha’s earlier film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa where she was playing the role of a Christian girl who falls in love with a Tamil Hindu boy following, complications in their relationship. Trisha and Vijay are for the first time sharing screen space in a film.

96 will be Prem Kumar’s debut film as a director. He has worked as a cinematographer for Vijay Sethupathi’s Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom. Vijay is also waiting for the release of the gangster comedy Junga directed by Gokul. He will also be seen in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, directed by Mani Ratnam and will soon be making his Telegu debut with the upcoming period-drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Towards the end of the year, the actor is expected to start filming for Rajinikanth’s upcoming film with Karthik Subbaraj. According to reports, the film is being planned to release on September 13.
