Famous comedian Kovai Senthil who is known for his roles in several Tamil films like Padayappa, En Rathathin Rathame, Avasara Police 100, etc passed away in Coimbatore on Sunday at the age of 74. He was admitted at a private hospital in Vadavalli, Coimbatore where he breathed his last.

The actor even appeared in many film as supporting actor. He was also seen in CS Amudhan’s 2010 spoof film Tamizh Padam where he played the role of a village head (Nattamai). Remembering the actor, the director of the film Amudhan, shared about a scene from the film and wrote, “Oh yes… 🙁 I remember we were under pressure to finish that day’s shoot at 6pm & he got that long dialogue in one take much to our relief. #RIP“.

Kovai started his career in films with Bhagyaraj’s Oru Kai Osai (1980). He then went on to appear in many other films like dhu Namma Aalu (1988), Chinna Kuyil Paduthu (1987), Kanna Thorakanum Saami (1986), etc. The actor also shared screen space with Kamal Hassan in Avvai Shanmugi (1996) and also appeared in Venkat Prabhu’s 2010 comedy drama Goa.
