Ever since the news of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu aka Mahesh Ghattamaneni’s wax replica at Madame Tussauds made news, the fans went into a tizzy as they eagerly waited to get a glimpse of it. Pulling all stops to the fans anticipation Mahesh finally unveiled his wax statue at AMB Cinemas in Hyderabad on Monday and shared an image of him standing with his uncanny similar statue, on his Instagram handle recently.
The statue dons an all-black formal suit, holding his chin in his hand with a distant expression as if pondering into space. Mahesh stood next to it clicking a selfie, donning a crisp white shirt and one can’t tell between the two. A buzz of fans and media flooded the 7-screen superplex for the unveiling ceremony before it could be flown to Singapore to be installed at Madame Tussauds museum.
Sharing pictures from the event, Mahesh captioned them, “My first reaction was… Wow!!! Quite freaky in a way looking at another Me!! Can’t get more real than this… Hats off to the artistry & detailing by the @mtssingapore team. It’s unbelievably close to life. Thanks a lot to Madame Tussauds SG team for unveiling the figure in my own city & my country amidst my family, friends & fans. Extremely happy with the response & love, each one has showered on me. I’m very happy, overwhelmed and grateful” (sic).
The statue will reportedly be exhibited at the India International Film Festival (IIFA) Awards Experience and Mahesh is the second Telugu actor after Prabhas to have a wax statue after him.
