Thala Ajith’s Vivegam is finally hitting screens tomorrow (August 24) and the buzz around the film is as strong as expected. Fans have been in frenzy and trade analysts have been sharing the massive numbers of advance bookings, screens and shows that the film is enjoying.

All thanks to the mass hysteria, most theatres in Chennai and some parts of Kerala too, have had to start shows as early as 4.30-5am. The Tamil film is also releasing in Telugu as Vivekam simultaneously. Now, we have learnt that the Hindi dubbed version is also on its way to a theatrical release.

Talking about the film, an industry source revealed that like all South Indian movies, Vivegam was also dubbed in Hindi already since the demand for dubbed films is high as far as satellite rights are concerned. But the Vivegam storm is so gigantic that releasing it in Hindi might be a great deal for the makers. “Vivegam anyway has a cast with a Pan India appeal. Apart from Thala, who is a known face for audiences across the nation, the film also stars Bollywood’s Vivek Oberoi, Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan, both of whom have worked in Hindi films. Known faces increases the films appeal to a wider audience. A good buzz around the film and positive reviews help generate further interest that transcends boundaries,” said the source.

He further said that while the decision hasn’t been taken, the makers will make an official announce depending on how well the film is received upon its Thursday release. We hear that some industry insiders have already seen the film at a special screening and they liked it better than Vedalam (Diwali 2015) which was a superhit.

It can be noted that Baahubali’s success with audience across the country has upped hopes and opened doors for big ticket south Indian films. “That said, releasing a film in Hindi may not always fetch profits. We recently saw what happened with DhanushKajol’s VIP 2. It released in Hindi a week post being released in Tamil and Telugu. But the reviews of the original version weren’t great and so there were no expectations from the Hindi dubbed version as well,” said the source highlighting how Thala Ajith and team Vivegam have made a good decision by waiting till the first weekend to gauge how big is the Vivegam storm!
