Nimrat Kaur has impressed everyone with her natural performances in Airlift and The Lunch Box. The actress has always played simple roles on screen and her look justified her onscreen image too. But this time around, Nimrat is all set to experiment and will play a completely contrasting role. She will be seen as a leading female protagonist in Ekta Kapoor’s ALT Balaji’s new show, The Test Case. Nagesh Kukunoor will be directing the show where Nimrat will be reprising the role of an Indian Army officer. She will be seen as the first Indian woman officer in a combat role.

But, it was not an easy task for Nimrat to play this role and the Bollywood actress had to undergo rigorous training for the same. She took training in martial arts, CrossFit Yoga and ballet to ensure her character looks real on screen. She had to give up on coffee and adopt a new lifestyle to get a perfect physic for her role. Her training list included push-ups, pull-ups and squats. Her trainer Cindy was quoted saying, “Ballet helps in posture and improves flexibility. Working on mobility and flexibility made Nimrat more agile as she tackled outdoor assault course or military drills on the training field.” (ALSO READ: Airlift actress Nimrat Kaur to play lead role in Ekta Kapoor’s new web series!)

The first look of her character from The Test Case is out and we are amazed. She looks lot more lean and stern like most commandos do. She carries an intense expression on her face as she holds a rifle in her hands. Her uniform has her name badge which reads Shikha Sharma. You can also seen dust and mud on her face.

Nimrat Kaur has always given her 100 percent to every role she did be it small or big. This time around she has taken a bigger challenge and we can see her justifying her new avatar too. Nimrat followed a strict routine for her show. “I insisted she sleeps eight hours, stay hydrated throughout the day, take at least one sport massage a week and unwind with a swim over the weekend. She also followed a Mediterranean diet of grilled meat, healthy fats and plenty of fruits and vegetables,” adds her trainer. (ALSO READ:I’ve lived an unpredictable life: Nimrat Kaur)
