Actress Sunny Leone, who is steadily making her way into the Indian film industry, is now headed down south after starring in a number of Bollywood movies. Her next venture will have her doing a special dance number with Malayalam megastar Mammootty for action movie Madhura Raja. Directed by Vysakh and written by Uday Krishna, the movie is a sequel to their 2010 film Pokkiri Raja. The film is being produced by Nelson Ipe under the banner Nelson Ipe Cinemas.
A picture of Sunny and Mammootty sitting on a couch has been doing the rounds on the internet, and in it, the former can be seen ready for her dancer role, wearing a short dress and high heels, while the latter is dressed in traditional attire.
Sunny, whose real name is Karenjit Kaur Vohra, will be launched in the Tamil film industry with the upcoming film Veeramadevi, which is about the warrior queen Veeramahadevi. The historical war movie has been written and directed by VC Vadivudaiyan and is also set to be released in Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu languages.
The Indo-Canadian actress, who will be playing the female lead role in the movie, had earlier expressed her excitement to have been chosen for the part, saying she has always wanted to play the part of a warrior. Along with Sunny, actor Navdeep will be playing the male lead, while Nassar and Srinath will appear in pivotal roles.
The budget for the movie, which has been written by Vadivudaiyan and produced by Ponse Stephen, is estimated to be Rs 100 crore.
