The role of a father in an individual’s life cannot be fathomed. They invest themselves completely and ask for nothing in return. It is only fitting then that a day is kept exclusively for them to remind us just how special they are to us. Father’s Day is celebrated every year on the third week of June. This year, it falls on June 17 in India. On this occasion, popular TV stars share their bit on why their bond with their dads is so special.
Kunal Jaisingh: As they say, a father is more than a hundred schoolmasters. I totally agree that a father is someone who is a friend, teacher and someone who loves a child more than anything. However, at times they just don’t say. We just need to feel their vibes.
Shubhangi Atre: My father used to tell me that it’s never too late to do anything one dreams of doing. He has always motivated and encouraged me to keep working hard till I actualised my dream. He once told me, ‘You never know what you can accomplish until you try.’ And today I’m living a life I wished for.
Pearl V Puri: Dads are very special. They never stop working to make sure we have the best life possible. They never show their true feelings but in reality they love and care for us a lot.
Aly Goni: My dad is really the most important person in my life. He will always be there to guide me. He has shaped me into who I am. Dads can be so powerful and generous that way. I’m thankful to him for everything.
Arshi Khan: My dad taught me to be strong and loving, kind and generous. I love him, I love that God blessed me to be his child, and I love that he is my best friend.
Mahika Sharma: I cannot think of any need in childhood that was not fulfilled by my father. A father is someone who stands as a lion when his cubs start exploring the world. He helps us to recover from our mistakes and learn from them. When he is there we have no one to fear.
Ritvik Arora: I’m so lucky to have such an amazing man as my dad. Thanks for teaching me to work hard and laugh harder. I’m thankful to him that he always stands with me, I’m proud for the upbringing he gave me.
Sara Khan: He is our world. And we are his world. He is the best man I ever knew. The best friend I’ve had the good fortunate of having.
Soni Singh: My dad has stayed true to himself, and that’s led me to do the same. I love him so much. I will never be able to repay him with all the time he spent helping me reach my goals. I will be forever grateful. He makes me feel secure always.
