It’s a Destination Wedding!

Just like most TV couples, Rubina and Abhinav are also planning a destination wedding; wish to exchange vows amidst the mountains. In a statement to a leading daily, the actress had said, “We have chosen Shimla for various reasons. To begin with, most of our relatives are settled there. However, the prewedding functions will take place in Mumbai and Ludhiana, which Abhinav’s hometown. We are not going in for an elaborate ritual, as for us, what matters most is the saat phere. We both wanted it to be an outdoor affair. Abhinav, being an adventure junkie, wished to exchange vows amidst the mountains, in the lap of nature. I, too, wanted a day wedding with lots of natural light and greenery around.”

It’s a Private Affair!

Sharing her wedding plans, Rubina had told the daily, “To keep the wedding a private affair, we will have the functions in a palace in Shimla, away from the media. Our families will also be more comfortable without the media around. However, we will invite the media and our friends to the reception in Mumbai.” The actress further added, “Our wedding, especially the rituals we’re doing with friends and family, that’s absolutely a personal and a private affair and we love to keep it that way. We are not looking at publicising or putting them on social media and make it a public affair.”

Pre-wedding Jitters?

Rubina believes one shouldn’t know everything about his/her partner at one go but discover it slowly. Speaking to a leading daily, the actress had said, “I am not someone who will have jitters. The idea is to grow old together and know each other better, gradually. I am looking forward to exploring new things with him by my side. I believe that one shouldn’t know everything about his/her partner at one go. Slow discovery of each other lends newness to the relationship and keeps the spark alive.”

It’s a Royal Wedding!

Rubina further told the daily, “I always wantfairytale tale wedding and wanted to get married in a palace, and I am glad that this dream will come true. It is a privilege and an honour that Raj Kumar Uday Singh said that they would love to host the wedding at the palace. It is a beautiful heritage palace that has stood since the time of the British rule.”

There will be a Grand Reception!

Post the wedding, the couple will host a lavish reception party for their friends in Ludhiana and Mumbai. The (Mumbai) wedding reception will take place at 8 pm on June 28, 2018, at Kishor Kumar Bungalow, Juhu Tara Road, Mumbai. “I’ve got my entire gang joining me for my big day in my bridesmaid tribe. Keerti will be the maid of honour and then my friends, Surveen Chawla, Tina Kuwajerwala, Ghazala Shaikh, Kamya Punjabi, Meghna Malik, Srishty Rode, Benaf Dadachandji will be there too,” shared the actress.

Rubina To Delay Honeymoon?

Post marriage, the actress, who has won accolades for taking up such a challenging role, might not have a long vacation as she can’t let her work suffer. She had told the leading daily, “I don’t think I will get a break for more than 10 days, as I have to balance my work and personal life. I can’t let my work suffer.” Talking about her honeymoon plans, the actress added, “Well, that can happen later. I don’t mind waiting for it, as anticipation adds to the excitement.”


On the professional front, Rubina, who rose to fame with her character Radhika where she played a role of a simple girl and her breathtaking performance in Choti Bahu – Sindoor Bin Suhagan, is currently seen in a TV show titled Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, where she is seen playing the role of a transgender, breaking all the stereotypes on the small screen.
