Uri terror attack: Zee considering to stop airing Pakistani shows on Zindagi channel!

The recent tensions amid India and Pakistan after the Uri attacks have taken an ugly turn. The situation has worsened between the two nations after enraged Indian nationals want the neighbouring country to be boycotted as a whole. The whole controversy took a new turn when a MNS leader announced that Pakistani artists must be banned from entering the country and should leave India with 48 hours. Ameya Khopkar, a leader of Raj Thackeray’s party, has warned the artists from the neighbouring nations to go back or they forcefully kick them out.

Following this report, the twitter got divided in the debate with a majority of section supporting MNS’ stand and the rest talking against it. In addition to Fawad Khan, Mawra Hocane, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Ali Zafar, our entertainment industry has loads of artist from Pakistan who work in India. They not only entertain us but also help our industry flourish with their talent.  This move has left them in a huge jeopardy as they might have to leave all their commitments half way and move back to Pakistan. Now, Dr Subash Chandra, the head of Excel Group in his recent tweet said that, Zee is planning to stop airing Pakistani shows on Zindagi channel. This channel has a huge fan following in India and has become a new fad amongst the Indian audience. Fawad Khan used to act in one such shows, before venturing into Bollywood. He also says that the actors working for the shows will have to quit as well. The decision is fallout of Mia Nawaz Shariff’s stand in the UN against Burhan Wani.

Burhan Wani was encountered by Indian army on 8th July 2016 and since then Kashmir has been on a boil. The situation of unrest continued in Kashmir since then and a curfew was imposed on Jammu and Kashmir. Nawaz Sharif in his UN speech glorified Burhan Wani, who was a commander of Hizbul Mujahideen (designated as a terrorist outfit by India). Nawaz got highly criticised for his speech.
