Veere Di Wedding starring Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania became the talk of the town with its trailer and the song Tareefan that released a few days later, only helped increase the buzz around the film. This was not you regular chick flick and nothing like Bollywood audience or the CBFC that certifies the films are used to. No wonder then, the profanities and cuss words used in the trailer and the film didn’t go down well with the board who decided to give the film an A certificate.

According to reports, the film has a scenes when they are discussing orgasms at length and there is also a sequence when they discuss and use a vibrator. It has been reported that Ekta Kapoor, one of the producers of the film (along with Rhea Kapoor and Nikhil Dwivedi) had asked for an A certificate, for the film. However, the board was not happy with the trailer and well and wanted it to be revised and some scenes edited before airing it however, Jeetendra and Anil Kapoor fought the cause and ensured that the trailer remains unchanged. However, the film has been rated an ‘A’.

A source quoted by Deccan Chronicle revealed, “Both Jeetendra (Ekta Kapoor’s father) and Anil argued heatedly in favour of the colourful language spoken in the film. They are convinced that today’s youngsters speak that foul lurid leery language. Some panel members objected. But finally, the board members agreed to let the language remain intact and gave the film an ‘A’ certificate.” The members of the CBFC (Central Board of Film Ceritifcation) were not happy with the kind of language being spoken by the four protagonists in the film and they said it was akin to “drunk fisherwomen.” The film will hit screens on June 1 and clash with Sonam’s brother Harshvarshan Kapoor’s Bhavesh Joshi Superhero.
