Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsani are coming together for Shashanka Ghosh’s Veere Di Wedding. The shoot of the film was wrapped by the end of last year, but the four actresses came together to shoot a special song from the film titled Tareefan in Film City. While Farah Khan is shooting this dance number, rapper Badshah will croon it. This song will reunite Sonam and the rapper after the superhit Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai from Khoobsurat. In the song, all the four actresses will parody roles typically reserved for men.
While talking about the special number, Badshah told Mumbai Mirror, “Tareefan means compliments in Punjabi. The song will have an urban vibe. I will not only be rapping but also singing for the first time. Qaran Mehta is the music director while I have co-written the lyrics. The treatment of this dance number is completely different from the ones I have done before.” While most of the song was shot yesterday, Badshah will join the Veere Di Wedding gang to wrap it up today.
The film is all set to release on June 1. According to latest reports, the makers are planning to launch the film’s trailer next week on April 19 in a grand event. Earlier while talking about Veere Di Wedding, Kareena had said, “t’s a different kind of movie. It’s a story of four friends. It’s not the typical boy-meets-girl romance which I think I’ve done so much of. So I thought this should be different. It’s a small film, made by women. The producers are women – Rhea (Kapoor) and Ekta (Kapoor). I think it’s a special film and people will appreciate it.”
