Vicky Kaushal‘s last release Uri: The Surgical Strike did wonders at the Box Office and is now all set to premiere on Zee Cinema on May 5.
The film, which was released in January, is based on the 2016 Indian Army’s surgical strikes in Pakistan following the attacks in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri. The film entered the 100 crore club and took the internet by storm with the catchphrase, “How’s the Josh”.
Marking two months of the film’s successful run in theatres Vicky took to his Instagram handle to share how overwhelmed he was of the love received by the audience and captioned it, “#Uri marks 2 months of a successful run in theatres today and continues to receive so much love from you all. Thank You, India!”.
Even though the film did wonders at the Box Office, there were still many people who had called the film a ‘propaganda film.’ Earlier, in an interview with Mid-Day, Vicky stated that he and the film’s team made the film “as a tribute to the Indian Armed Forces.”.
Uri was released on January 11 and also featured Yami Gautam, Kriti Kulhari, Mohit Raina, Paresh Rawal, Manasi Parekh, Rajit Kapur, and Shishir Sharma among others. Helmed by Aditya Dhar, the movie was produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
Vicky will next be seen in Takht and Saare Jahan Se Acha. Vicky will also be exploring the horror genre in debutante Bhanu Pratap Singh’s film. He will also be seen in Shoojit Sircar’s next Udham Singh.
