The much-awaited trailer of Vikram Vedha is out and has beautifully established the cop versus ganster theme. Pushkar and Gayatri who has cast two dynamic actors – R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in their film had already got fans gushing with its first look poster, interesting teaser and excellent music. Now with the release of its trailer, we just got a better insight into the two intriguing characters – a cop and a gangsta.

The story of the film is based on an age-old classic mythological tale Vikramathithan Vedhalam. While some reports say that the movie is inspired by a Hollywood movie Catch Me If You Can. However, it’s interesting to watch Vijay and Madhavan to have caught in a cat-and-mouse chase.

The movie trailer starts with Vijay Sethupathi asking, “Shall I tell you a story, sir, only to have stopped by Madhavan narrating a stereotyped gansta’s background saga. Madhavan in an arrogant cop look and Vijay Sethupathi’s sarcasm and comebacks have already left us enthralled, haven’t it? Also, if you’ve noticed, there is no female lead to have shown in the trailer but did that even come to you until I pointed that out? Well, watching a film’s trailer that carries two brilliant, conventional and versatile actors opposite each other, do we really need a woman to work this movie out in the box office? Everything in the movie is just perfect. From the cop-gansta theme to wonderfully shot scenes to the excellent music composed by a newcomer Sam CS complementing each action scene is just too perfect. Could this trailer get any better? (ALSO READ: Vikram Vedha first look: Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi’s face off is giving us all the feels!)

The trailer was today launched by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Sivakarthikeyan on their official Twitter handles. While fans have watched Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi to have done the roles of a chocolate boy and a sincere cop respectively (basically playing the good guy character), they will be here wondering who is the good guy and the bad guy. However, we hear Vijay Sethupathi saying at the end of the trailer, “If you’re given a choice between good and bad, it’s easy to choose, but in this story, both are bad guys, what would you do? With such ending of the trailer, anyone would be intrigued to know if the cop is really all that good and if the gangsta is really all that bad.

The film also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Shraddha Srinath, who will be seen playing pivotal roles in the movie. The film’s release date is yet to be announced.
