Mumbai, Jan 18: Sanjay Dutt will be a free man on February 25. But Dutt’s wife Maanyata is not happy with the early release of her husband and now expects yet another favour from the state government. The couple got married as per Hindu rituals on February 11, after a court marriage on February 8, 2008, and Maanyata has made a special request to celebrate the eighth anniversary with husband Sanjay Dutt.

For their seventh wedding anniversary last year, Maanayata had sprung a surprise on Sanjay Dutt by making an unannounced visit at Pune’s Yerwada jail through special permission. In 2014, Dutt, who is in jail after being convicted for illegal possession of arms in the 1993 Mumbai blasts, was out on parole during his anniversary. This year, however, pulling things off may not be so easy for her. For, dates of their anniversary on February 11 and his release from prison which is scheduled for February 25, are just a fortnight apart. A source close to the couple reveals, “In all likelihood, the couple won’t get to spend their special day together this time since their anniversary and his release date are only 14 days apart.” ALSO READ: Bollywood waits for Sanjay Dutt’s return

The government has been extremely considerate in the case of Sanjay Dutt, who will be released from jail on February 25, after being in the prison since May 2013. Dutt has stayed out of jail for 118 days on paroles and furloughs in the first year of his term at Yerwada. Every time Sanjay Dutt has been out on parole, it has raised many eyebrows. While other prisoners have been serving their jail imprisonment, questions have been raised as to why this special treatment has been given to the 56-year-old actor.

The year before, Maanayata, along with their twins Iqra and Shahraan, had flown down to Rajasthan where he was shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s PK, days before he was sent to jail to serve the remainder of his five- year jail sentence. This year, Maanayata has asked for permission from the jail authorities to visit Dutt. She is still waiting for them to revert, but securing their approval looks a bit difficult this time.
