Vicky Kaushal who shot to fame in 2015 post the release of Masaan is now all set to take the big league with his pivotal role in the upcoming Dutt biopic. Vicky who’s known to be humble and absolutely rooted to his North Indian roots shares a special love for Punjab and Punjabi culture. An avid fan of Punjabi singers, its Gurdas Mann he idolises. Since his childhood and growing up years Vicky has looked upto the famous Punjabi singer and actor who’s a global star in his own right. It was recent when Vicky has the fortune to meet his idol and exchange a valuable conversation with him. On sharing his admiration, Gurdas Man was extremely touched and instantly gave a gift of a 500 rupee note to Vicky as a token of love and respect. Vicky till date has carried the note as his inspiration and charm and values the gift more than anything else.

To which, Vicky added, ”I look upto Gurdas Maan. He’s my idol. He gave me a currency note once and since then I till date have it saved with me in my wallet. I have so much respect for him and in my lifetime if I can even achieve 10% of what he has achieved I would be satisfied as an artist.”

Vicky who gained immense popularity from the critics as well as the fans for his role in Masaan, will be now seen in Sanjay Dutt Biopic. He will be playing the role of Sanjay Dutt’s close friend in this Ranbir Kapoor starrer. Speaking about his role in the biopic, he had told Mid-Day, ” I can’t say much, but the character is primarily based on his close friend who lives in the US. That friend has been with Sanjay Dutt through thick and thin. I have major preparation lined up and it requires a lot of travelling.” He further added, ” I will do whatever it takes. I feel the need to give my all to this role because it is a fantastic script, which makes you laugh and cry at the same time. Who gets to work with Raju Hirani barely two years into the industry? The Masaan actor further was quoted saying, “The first film of his that I watched was Vaastav. I haven’t started shooting yet, but Raju sir and Ranbir have jammed a lot with Sanjay sir. He even gave the first clap. It’s hard to believe one man has led this life.” Well, hope the fanboy of Gurdas Mann make his idol proud with his next flick too!
