India vs Australia 3rd Test Melbourne: India created history at the Melbourne Cricket Ground by beating the hosts Australia by 137 runs in the Boxing Day Test. With this win, India has taken to take an unassailable 2-1 lead in the four-match Test series. This also becomes India’s first victory at the Melbourne Cricket Ground since 1981 when Kapil Dev starred with the ball to help India beat the hosts. The wait has been long and to be exact it has taken 37 years for India to taste a win at the iconic MCG. Jasprit Bumrah starred with the ball with a nine-wicket haul for the match as India win their 150th Test ever and become only the fifth team to do so.

Meanwhile, at the post-match presentation, Kohli said, “We are not going to stop here. This (win) will give us more confidence and we will play more positively in Sydney.I think we have been really smart in all the departments in the two matches that we have won. That is the reason we have at least retained the trophy but job is not done yet. It’s not finished at all. We want to win the last Test match as well, if an opportunity comes our way”.
The fourth and final Test starts on January 3, 2019.
