1st Test: Seems like the entire team is having a ball in Adelaide, during the 1st Test. Despite failing with the bat in the second innings, fans at the ground pepped up the Indian batsman with some Punjabi music. Indian fans at the venue were playing Indian music when Rohit Sharma was fielding near the boundary. Rohit just could not keep a lid over his emotions as he appreciated the music. The cricketer turned back while the music was being played just to let the fans know that he too is enjoying it. India is on the cusp of a historic win, needing just six more Australian wickets, but Rohit’s form has been a cause of concern and fans on social sphere is asking the management to replace Rohit with Hanuma Vihari, who they feel is suited best at No 6.
Here is the video of the fans playing music and Rohit acknowledging it:
In the same video, you can also see the tricolour.
Meanwhile, it was Nathan Lyon who got his Rohit Sharma as Peter Handscomb took the catch. It was an excellent catch by Handscomb. Close in catches are never easy and more so at silly point. Rohit was on the move but got undone by the turn and bounce on the off break. Struck the pad and took a tiny chunk of the blade before flying towards Handscomb reacted excellently to take a diving catch to his right. After a largely insipid session, Australia had been given something to cheer about. Yet, one feels with a lead of 275 runs will be the happier team at lunch on Day 4.
Australia require 219 more to win, they were 104/4 at stumps on Day 4.
