1st Test Adelaide: Former Australian leggie Shane Warne was spot on when it came to predicting how Nathan Lyon would get him. Warne made the prediction in the commentary box and off the very next delivery, it happened just how the Australia spin wizard had predicted. Warne said in the live commentary that Lyon has set it up really well and if he gets it on the right spot he could get a wicket and it happened. Pujara was out for a well-made 71. The incident took place in the 88th over when India was in the driver’s seat at 234/3 in their second innings and was leading by 249 runs.
Former English skipper Michael Vaughan who was also a part of the Fox broadcasting unit lauded Warne as he praised him on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Warne lavished praise on Lyon for his efforts and patience with the ball to get the key wicket of Pujara. He said of Lyon, “Excellent stuff from Nathan Lyon. It was just pure patience. He got the field right, he got the bowling right, everything was right. He just had to finish the over up, he did that. And the main man, Pujara, who got the hundred in the first innings. He got 71 here. He was the rock for India. He has done a great job for them. It took just a nice bit of patience and good bowling from Nathan Lyon and he has produced the wicket Australia desperately needed.”
