2nd Australia vs India Perth: After bundling out for 326, Australia responded in an emphatic fashion with the ball as they removed India opener Murali Vijay in the three-over burst before lunch on day 2 of the second Test in Perth. Australian bowling spearhead Mitchell Starc bowled a big booming inswinger that beat Vijay all ends up and disturbed his timber. It was a ball which swung back in and Vijay failed to bring his bat down on time which eventually led to his downfall. The opener was out without scoring and India went into lunch on Day 2 at 6/1. The wicket of Vijay will give Starc a lot of confidence following his not so inspirational performance at Adelaide for which he has received a lot of flak. India’s best batsman in the first Test, Cheteshwar Pujara and KL Rahul have a lot of work on their hand when they come back in the 2nd session.

It was just the start the hosts were looking for after losing at Adelaide. It was no movement of the feet from Vijay that got him stuck to the crease and he was dismissed. Starc has now dismissed Vijay on six occasions.  Vijay looked quite tentative from the start and Starc exploited the weakness perfectly. There’s enough seam and swing on offer, this deck will only get worse.

Here is the video of the brilliant Star delivery:

The Indians had their tail up when they got the last 4 wickets of the hosts for 16 runs. But they have been quickly quietened in the third over of their innings. Earlier, India wrapped up Australia for 326 but it seems it to be a good score on the lively track of Perth. Marcus Harris was the top scorer for the hosts with 70 runs, Travis Head also scored a crucial half-century to lift Australia from a precarious position. Fast bowler Ishant Sharma was the pick of the Indian bowlers as he scalped four wickets to wrap Australia’s innings. Sharma claimed the last two Australian wickets off successive balls and will be on a hat-trick when he will bowl in the second Australian innings.
