3rd ODI India vs Australia Melbourne: India opener Shikhar Dhawan got dismissed for 23 off 46 balls in the final ODI at MCG. Dhawan was set and there was no need to try something extravagant with India chasing 231. Dhawan was caught and bowled by Marcus Stoinis off a nothing delivery. It was a sharp return catch from Stoinis as it was hit firmly enough. Dhawan has not been in great form in the three-match ODI series as he was out for a golden duck in the first at SCG. In the second ODI, he fell for 32 off 28 after getting off to a good start. The problem with Dhawan seems to be he is not making the most of the starts he is getting. In his last nine ODIs, he has amassed 182 runs at an average of 20.22.
Here is how Twittersphere trolled Dhawan:
Meanwhile, Australia folded for 230 in 48.4 overs. Shami picked up the last wicket Stanlake for 0. Peter Handscomb with 58 was the highest run-getter for Australia. India needs 231 to win the series. Should be a walk in the park for the men in blue but at the time of filing the copy, India had lost Rohit Sharma for nine and Dhawan as Kohli and Dhoni were in the middle. India was 73/2 in 21 overs.
