India opener Shikhar Dhawan was short of runs heading into the 4th ODI at Mohali, but he turned the tables as he slammed his 16th ODI ton after India won the toss and opted to bat first. Dhawan looked in sublime touch from the very first ball, which he picked for a boundary. Since then, there was no looking back for the southpaw. He kept finding the gaps and hit boundaries at will. Dhawan looked positive and would look to continue from here and get a daddy hundred. During his stay in the middle with Rohit, the opening duo surpassed Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag to become the second most successful opening pair for India. The openers scored 193 runs before Rohit departed for 95.
Here is how Twitter hailed Dhawan after his 16th ton:
Dhawan’s century was laced with 12 boundaries and a six. At the time of filing the copy, India was 209/1 in 34 overs. Rohit departed for a well-made 95 and KL Rahul has just walked in to join Dhawan.
