5th ODI India vs Australia Decider Highlights: At the outset of the series, no one gave Australia a chance to compete with India at home but now they stand on the brink of creating history at Feroz Shah Kotla in the decider. It is also the last opportunity for India’s World Cup aspirants to show their mettle in the last ODI before the marquee tournament. India would be hoping Virat Kohli rises to the occasion and so does Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. Rohit would be on the cusp of breaching the 8000-run mark in ODI cricket.

21:13 IST: Australian cricket team have defeated India by 35 runs in New Delhi. The visitors have sealed the series with this victory.

21:07 IST: FOUR! Right off the middle. On the shorter side, Kuldeep goes back and pulls it hard through mid-wicket and into the fence. 6 boundaries also won’t help though.

20:56 IST: Kuldeep Yadav makes his way to the crease.

20:54 IST: WICKET! India have lost their eighth wicket. Kedar Jadhav departs!

20:52 IST: WICKET! Bhuvneshwar Kumar out for 46!

20:45 IST: SIX! Take that says Kumar! What a shot that is. The slower ball on middle, Kumar makes room, waits for it and then tonks it over the bowler’s head. Goes all the way. 7 from the two balls bowled.

20:38 IST: Indian cricket team have now reached 200/6 in 42.5 overs.

20:38 IST: SIX! BOOM! Kumar gets into the act now. This is on the pads, Kumar brings out the slog sweep, nails it and sends the ball over the mid-wicket stands. The crowd here seems to have found its voices back.

20:32 IST: Indian cricket team now need 91 runs from 54 balls as pressure continues to pile.

20:26 IST: FOUR! The over started with a boundary and now end with one. 9 from it. Good one for India, they need to keep going though at this rate. Outside off, Kumar drives it square on the off side. It is in the gap and reaches the fence.

20:21 IST: MAIDEN! Lyon with a brilliant over as pressure continues to pile on Men in Blue. India are 163/6 after 38 overs. They still need 110 runs from 72 balls.

20:04 IST: The Indian cricket team are 152-6 after 33 overs, they need 117 off 94 balls for a victory.

19:54 IST: FOUR! Jadhav holds the key here! This is short and outside off, KJ goes back and then guides it past the fielder at point. Boundary results.

19:52 IST: Team India are now 139/6 after 31 overs.

19:49 IST: FOUR! This time this is tickled fine on the leg side, no chance for the fielder in the deep and a boundary results.

19:45 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar makes his way to the crease.

19:43 IST: Wicket! Jadeja dispatched for a duck! Things are looking bad for Team India now.

19:40 IST: OUT! Rohit Sharma is stumped! Finally Zampa gets his man, in the third attempt. A well-disguised googly by the leggie, landing on middle and leg and turning in, Sharma hurries down the track for a big shot but fails to make any connection. He loses his bat and it goes somewhere in the square leg region. More importantly for Australia, Carey is very swift to take the bails off.

19:33 IST: FOUR! Poor delivery and punished. Maxwell drops it short outside off and Jadhav packs a punch through covers for a cracking boundary.

19:28 IST: 153 needed off 152 balls.

19:27 IST: OUT! Shankar gets carried away after the last shot, tries to clear the boundary once again but holes out in the process. It ain’t a very great ball by Zampa. Short and on middle, Vijay goes back to pull but fails to control his shot. Ends up hitting it in the air and Khawaja runs across to his right at long on to complete the catch.

19:26 IST: SIX! This has gone all the way! Effortlessly done by Shankar. Tossed up ball outside off, landing full, Vijay reaches out for it and thwacks it over the bowler’s head.
19:11 IST: Indian cricket team are now 97-3, they need 176 off 181 balls for a victory.

19:08 IST:  LBW Call not given by the umpire. Is it pad first? Carey has a chat with his skipper and then decides not to take it. Zampa dishes it out slower through the air, it’s full and off, Shankar defends it close to his front pad. The replays clear the confusion, it was bat first.

19:05 IST: Vijay Shankar makes his way to the crease.

19:04 IST: Wicket! Pant is dispatched after scoring 16 runs of 16 balls.

18:58 IST: SIX, SIX! Pant wastes no time in taking Zampa for a ride. A rank long hop around off, turning back in, Rishabh goes deep inside the crease and hammers his pull over mid-wicket for a biggie.

18:52 IST: Indian cricket team are now 80/2 after 16 overs.

18:46 IST: After 14 overs, the Men-in-Blue are 72/2. Can they produce something special to turn things around for India?

18:39 IST: Wicket! the big one for Aussies as they dismiss the skipper Virat Kohli.

18: 10 IST:  FOUR! Lovely shot! A juicy half-volley around off, Rohit is on the front foot as he thumps his drive through the gap between extra cover and mid-off. Picked the length very early there, Sharma.

18:04 IST: Skipper Virat Kohli makes his way to the crease. Now it will be him alongside Rohit Sharma.

18:03 IST: India Lose their First Wicket as Shikhar Dhawan departs for 12. India are now 15-1

Great comeback from India, now they are set for a 272 chase!

17:08 IST: Richardson is short as they referred for a run out appeal upstairs. A yorker on middle, this is flicked towards mid-wicket.

16:51 IST: FOUR! Solid shot! Much-needed boundary! Slightly fuller and on off, Cummins makes room and then hits it over mid off and a boundary results.

16:48 IST: Wicket! Another one bites the dust and the last recognized batsman has been dismissed. 250 now looks farfetched!

16:41 IST: Wicket! Bhuveneshwar Kumar dismisses Stonis with a peach of a delivery, Aussies are now six down.

16:27 IST: SIX! Amidst all the pressure, Stoinis slams a massive sixer!

16:25 IST: Alex Carey makes his way to the crease. Australia are now 210/5 in 41.2 overs.

16:24 IST: WICKET! Aussies lose their fifth and it is Kuldeep who takes it! Turner dismissed as he tries to attempt another six. But finds Ravindra Jadeja at deep mid-wicket.

16:23 IST: SIX! Poor bowling and it has been put away! Short and it sits up to be hit. Turner goes back and pulls it with ease, over the mid-wicket fielder and over the mid-wicket fence.

16:10 IST:
After 38 overs, the Aussies are 193/4.

16:04 IST: Wicket! Team India are looking to turn this around now, it is the big one Peter Handscomb who is dismissed after 52 runs off 60 balls.

15: 52 IST: Wicket! Maxwell departs as Kohli takes another catch off a Ravindra Jadeja delivery! Two wickets in quick succession of the Men in Blue. Could this turn the fortunes for the hosts?

15:46 IST: Gone, WICKET! India gets the big fish, right after his century, Khawaja has been dismissed by a Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivery. Caught out by Virat Kohli.

15:41 IST: Century! That’s a ton for Khawaja! His second in ODIs and both have come in this series against India. He celebrates and soaks in the applause of his teammates. Absolutely brilliant display by him so far in this series.

15:27 IST: Close! Bumrah serves a length ball on off, angling in, Khawaja stays back to play at it, probably trying to guide it towards the third man late but gets an inside edge onto the back leg.

15:21 IST: Boundary! A short delivery from Ravindra Jadeja leads to four runs by Usman Khawaja towards the square. The Aussies complete their 150.

15:18 IST: Usman Khawaja playing yet another brilliant innings for his team. Australia seems set to build on a big total.

50-run partnership comes up between Khawaja (68*) and Handscomb (30*)

15:13 IST: Khawaja is looking good for a ton, India totally on the back foot. A couple of quick wickets could change things for India. AUS: 128/1 in 24 overs.

15:04 IST: Just 1 over for Kedar Jadhav. Shami replaces the part-timer and concedes 8 from his fourth over. AUS: 120/1 in 23 overs.

14:58 IST: Jadeja gets the breakthrough but after that Handscomb has got in and is looking good, he is coming off a ton and is looking ominous from an Indian point of view. AUS: 95/1 in 18 overs.

14:30 IST: Australia not allowing Kuldeep to settle in as they are more than willing to play their shots against him. The pitch looks extremely flat. AUS: 73/0 in 14 overs.

14:22 IST: Kuldeep Yadav comes into the attack as India are still searching for the first wicket. This is a good situation for the visitors who would look to make the most of it and just not squander it away. SIXX… Khawaja hits Kuldeep over his head for a maximum. AUS: 65/0 in 12 overs.

14:12 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar keeps it tight gives away five run. AUS: 52/0 in 10 overs.

14:09 IST: Bumrah is coming round the wickets trying to not give room to Khawaja. Jasprit is keeping it tight but India needs a wicket. AUS: 47/0 in 9 overs.

14:04 IST: There is some confusion in running between the wickets. But that does not seem to bother Khawaja who is dealing in boundaries. Khawaja is looking dangerous. AUS: 46/0 in 8 overs.

The floodlights are already on, it is overcast in Delhi.

14:00 IST: India make first bowling change, Bumrah comes into the attack. Three runs from his first over. AUS: 41/0 in 7 overs.

13:58 IST: Two boundaries for Finch, he is away after a sedate start. AUS: 38/0  in 6 overs.

13:52 IST: Good over from Bhuvi, just two runs to pull things back. AUS: 30/0  in 5 overs.

13:48 IST: Australia off to the start they were after. They sure win the first few exchanges. Khawaja is looking in ominous touch as Australia has already hit five boundaries in the first four overs. AUS: 28/0  in 4 overs.

13:41 IST: Finch hits his first boundary, joins the party as Australia are off to a steady start. Bhuvi traps Khawaja on the pads, there is a huge appeal. Kohli contemplates going for the DRS, backs out last-minute. Khawaja ends the over with a boundary of a short-arm jab. AUS: 18/0  in 3 overs.

13:37 IST: Shami will share the new ball with Bhuvi. Two slips in place and Shamistartss off with a peach. Khawaja hits the fourth ball through covers for his second boundary. AUS: 9/0  in 2 overs.

13:33 IST: FOURRR… Khawaja gets a gift on his legs and he puts it away for the first runs. Bhuvi has been spot on apart from that one ball. AUS: 4/0  in 1 over.

13:29 IST: Here we go!!! Australian openers Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja are ready for one-last-time in India in ODIs. Bhuvi will start proceedings for India.

13:20 IST: The team that has been picked today indicates Vijay Shankar will play at No 4.

13:05 IST: Chahal misses out and Jadeja comes in as an all-rounder, and KL misses out to make way for Shami.

Australia Playing XI: Aaron Finch (c), Usman Khawaja, Peter Handscomb, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Ashton Turner, Alex Carey (wk), Jhye Richardson, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Adam Zampa

India Playing XI: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli(c), Rishabh Pant(w), Kedar Jadhav, Vijay Shankar, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah

12:54 IST: Win the toss, bowl first says Sunil Gavaskar.

12:52 IST: Rohit Sharma is 46 runs away from becoming the third fastest to 8000 ODI runs. He also needs one ton to go past Sourav Ganguly in the all-time leading centurions for India.

12:50 IST: We are moments away from the toss and it will be interesting to see what Kohli does in case if wins the toss.

12:37 IST: Australia would hope lightning strikes thrice… Last time India lost three straight ODIs at home was also the last time India lost a series at home to Australia – back in 2009. Kohli has scored 591 runs already in 2019. At Kotla, he averages 50+, that is 9 below his ODI average which is stunning.

12:15 IST: It would be interesting to see at what number does Kohli come out to bat. It is a big game for young Rishabh Pant, who would look to forget about Mohali and focus at the game at hand. Kohli will also look to avoid his first bilateral ODI series at home.
