AFC Cup: Mohun Bagan to miss key man Sony Norde against Yangon United FC

India's top club Mohun Bagan will miss the services of their injured influential playmaker Sony Norde when they lock horns with Yangon United FC in their AFC Cup away match on Wednesday.

Kolkata, Apr 10: India’s top club Mohun Bagan will miss the services of their injured influential playmaker Sony Norde when they lock horns with Yangon United FC in their AFC Cup away match on Wednesday. The reigning I-League winners will be leaving for Myanmar tonight, sans the star player from Haiti, to play their Asian Football Confederation away fixture against Yangon United FC but will be without the services of Haitian star midfielder Sony Norde.

Norde aggravated his knee injury during his team’s I-League match against DSK Shivajians yesterday. Mohun Bagan won the home game 3-2 against Yangon United FC on March 16 with Norde and Jeje Lalpekhlua finding the back of the net. Mohun Bagan have played three games in Group-G with nine points to lead the group. However, in the I-League, Mohun Bagan’s hopes of retaining the title virtually went up in smoke after they were held to a 3-3 draw by DSK Shivajians in an enthralling contest.
