Afghanistan Premier League 2018: Kabul Zwanan vs Paktia Panthers — Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has not forgotten how to clear the ropes with ease. One of the biggest entertainers the game has ever seen, Afridi recently hit the ball out of the stadium during an Afghanistan Premier League match between Kabul Zwanan and Patkia Panthers. It was an important game for both teams as a finals berth was at stake. Paktia Panthers’ Afridi scored 27 off 16 balls before being dismissed but the six will be etched in the memories of his fans. Kabul’s Musa dug the ball in short to Afridi, the ball did not climb on the batsman as he would have like. Afridi had already lined it up and it was in his hitting arc. He went through with it, it came right out of the middle of the blade and it sailed outside the stadium.
Chasing 192 set by Kabul, the Panthers were in trouble at 62 for 6 when Afridi hit the six, just shows that some things do not change. Eventually, the Panthers were bundled out for a paltry 102 runs and they got eliminated.
Earlier in the match, Rashid Khan left Afridi clueless by not allowing him to take him on. The over was a classic from Rashid.
Kabul Zwanan will now lock horns with Mohammed Nabi led Balkh Legends in the inaugural Afghanistan Premier League 2018 finals on October 21.
