After Head Coach Ravi Shastri's Request, Cricket Australia Says They're Open to More Tour Matches Against India

Cricket Australia have responded to India head coach Ravi Shastri’s request for more warm-up games in the lead-up to the Test series this summer, saying they are willing to explore options but are still waiting for an official notification from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

“We are happy to discuss options with the BCCI, but we have not received any formal notification to increase the number of tour matches prior to their series commencing in Australia,” Cricket.com.au quoted CA spokesperson, as saying.

India had only one practice match ahead of their recent Test series against England – which they lost 1-4 – and Shastri believes his side would be better prepared to tackle Australia if more red-ball cricket was scheduled prior to the first Test in Adelaide starting on December 6.

In an interview with ESPNcricinfo, Shastri said that he has already put forward his demand to the BCCI to put more warm-up games in Australia ahead of the four-match Test series commencing December 6.
