Former Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma played a brilliant innings against Sikkim on Wednesday, and the players of the opposing team were enjoying watching him bat. This shows a positive side of Indian cricket, where rivalry on the field doesn’t stop players from appreciating each other. Rohit scored 155 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match played in Jaipur. The Sikkim players and their captain were happy because they got to watch Rohit play up close.

“This is the biggest day of our lives,” said Sikkim captain Li Yong.

He added, “It’s amazing to be on the field with such a great cricketer. He respected the good balls and punished the loose ones. He even explained which balls were good and which shots he should have played differently.”

Rohit scored 155 runs off 94 balls against Sikkim. The Sikkim captain said it felt like a dream come true for them. On Wednesday, Rohit took full advantage of Sikkim’s inexperienced bowling attack, scoring 155 runs in 94 balls. With his brilliant innings on his List A comeback, Mumbai defeated Sikkim by eight wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Group C match.

Giving nearly 20,000 fans a Christmas treat, ‘Hitman’ Rohit hit 18 fours and nine sixes in his innings. Mumbai chased down the target of 237 runs in 30.3 overs to win.

Sikkim’s bowlers looked helpless against Rohit. Bowlers Palzer Tamang, Kranti Kumar, Gurinder Singh, and Ankur Malik could hardly challenge him. Rohit started by hitting Kranti for a four at midwicket and didn’t spare the spinners either. He was given two chances but kept scoring at a fast pace.

Watching Rohit play up close felt like a dream, said Sikkim captain. Rohit shared a 141-run partnership with Angkrish Raghuvanshi (38 off 56 balls) and a 75-run partnership with debutant Mushir Khan (27). The Sikkim captain said playing alongside a former Indian captain who has won a World Cup and seeing him bat so close was like a dream come true.
