Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka’s limited-overs skipper, will be again leading the side in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa beginning July 29 in Dambulla. Uncapped left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya is the lone newcomer in the 15-member squad named by the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Tuesday for the five-match series.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Chandimal, who led Sri Lanka in Mathews’ absence, and who is currently serving a six-match ban (two Tests and four ODIs), and Danushka Gunathilaka, who has been handed a suspension by the SLC, pending inquiry, for a code of conduct violation, have also not been included in the squad.

Asela Gunaratne, Dushmantha Chameera, Nuwan Pradeep, Shehan Madushanka and Wanidu Hasaranga are the other exclusions from the squad that featured in tri-series in Bangladesh. The ODI series begins on July 29 in Dambulla and ends at the R Premadasa stadium in Colombo on August 12.
