Arsenal Leapfrogs Manchester United and Spurs to Take Third Place in Premier League, Twitter Reacts
Arsenal defeated Newcastle 2-0 in the Premier League on Monday, which took them up to the third position on the table, ahead of arch-rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs.

Arsenal football club climbed to the third spot in the Premier League table after their clinical display against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium in London. Aided by goals from Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette, the Gunners sealed a 2-0 victory following which they leapfrogged arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the league table.
It was the Welsh international Aaron Ramsey who opened the scoring for Arsenal in the first half of the match which was capitalised in the second half by the Frenchman Lacazette which won the game in the 83rd minute with a chip over the keeper.
With seven games to go, the result puts Arsenal on 63 points – two above both Tottenham and Manchester United, and Chelsea sitting further behind with another point short. This is a massive boost for the Unai Emery-led side as it brings them closer to their aim of qualifying for the Champions League for the upcoming season.
