Also ahead of the finals, Mushfiqur Rahim would be having a chance to overhaul Virat Kohli’s Asia Cup record. The 31-year-old—-who has 734 runs from 25 matches in Asia Cup— if manages to score 33 runs in the finals at the Dubai International Stadium, will surpass Kohli’s tally of 766 runs to become the sixth-highest run-getter in the tournament.
The list is headed by Sri Lankan legends Sanath Jayasuriya (1220 runs) and Kumar Sangakkara (1075 runs), followed by India’s Sachin Tendulkar (971 runs) and Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik (907 runs).
