Asia Cup 2018, India vs Pakistan: Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to bat first against India in a highly-contested battle in the ongoing Asia Cup 2018 in Dubai. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave India a perfect start as he removed the in-form Pakistan openers – Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman cheaply.

But, men in green found the saviours in form of experienced Shoaib Malik and talented Babar Azam who knitted a crucial 82-run stand for the third wicket. The dangerous stand was later broken by India’s Kuldeep Yadav who snared the big wicket of Babar Azam for 47.

However, it was the wicket of veteran Malik which hurt Pakistan badly and completely exposed their middle-order. The 36-year old Malik was batting pretty well and looked set for a big score in the important clash against India.

During the 27th over of Pakistan innings, Asif Ali taps the ball towards cover-point to steal a single. Responding to Ali’s call, Malik charges to the other end. India’s Ambati Rayudu attacks the ball, picks it up and hits the bull’s eye at the bowler’s end as Shoaib tries to drag it back in.

The direct hit was referred upstairs and Malik was caught well short of his ground. The replays showed Malik was lazy to go back too which eventually cost him his wicket.
