Pakistan reached the Asia Cup final against India after a tough 11-run win over Bangladesh in their Super Fours match on Thursday.
Defending a low total of 135/8, Pakistan’s bowlers kept things tight and held Bangladesh to 124/9 in 20 overs.
Shaheen Shah Afridi led the bowling attack with figures of 3 for 17, while Haris Rauf did well in the later overs, taking 3 for 33.
Saim Ayub (2 for 16) and Mohammad Nawaz (1 for 14) also chipped in with key wickets to help Pakistan stay in control.
Bangladesh had Pakistan under pressure at 71/6 in the 14th over after choosing to bowl first. However, they let the game slip with poor fielding and missed chances.
Late contributions from Mohammad Haris (31 off 23 balls) and Mohammad Nawaz (25 off 15 balls) gave Pakistan a boost, helping them score 80 runs in the last eight overs and reach a decent total.
Taskin Ahmed was Bangladesh’s best bowler, picking up 3 for 28. Rishad Hossain (2 for 18) and Mahedi Hasan (2 for 28) also bowled well.
This win sets up a third meeting between India and Pakistan in this tournament — they’ve already faced off in the group stage and again in the Super Fours.
