Asian Games 2018: Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar Settle For Bronze in 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Event

India opened their account at the 18th edition of Asian Games with a bronze medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team shooting event.

Shooting pair of Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar opened India’s account at the 18th edition of Asian Games with a bronze medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team event on Sunday. This is India’s first medal in the quadrennial event, which is being hosted in two Indonesian cities – Jakarta and Palembang.

The Indian duo of Apurvi and Ravi started the final with a bang as they consistently shot good scores to maintain the lead after the first 10 shots. However, nerves got the better of the Indian pair as they faltered in last few shots and settled for a bronze with a score of 429.9.

The duo of Kumar and Chandela finished third on the podium with a score of 429.9. Chinese Taipei claimed gold with 494.1 with a Games record while China bagged silver with 492.5.

Kumar and Chandela entered the final as the second-best team with 835.3.

However, Manu Bhaker and Abhishek Verma failed to qualify for the final of 10m mixed air pistol event.
