Australia Women got off to a poor start losing opener Alyssa Healy (4) in the second over. Villani then stitched a valuable partnership of 77 runs for the second wicket with skipper Lanning to put Australia back on the track. Deandra Dottin then broke the partnership in the 12th over by removing Villani, who smashed 52 off 37 balls, which included nine fours. Ellyse Perry (28) then joined the skipper and the duo put up 42-run stand off 34 balls, before Lanning was dismissed for 52 by Anisa Mohammed in the 18th over with score reading 134 for three.
Australia Women then lost two wickets in the last over, but managed to reach 148 in 20 overs. Dottin was pick of the bowlers with two for 33 while Anisa Mohammed and Stafanie Taylor chipped in with a wicket each.
