England Women won the toss and opted to bat first but did not get anywhere near to what they would have been hoping. Apart from Danielle Wyatt’s 43 and captain Heather Knights 15, no other batter got double digits as well and that is what hurt England as they set an easy 106 for Australia to win. Ashleigh Gardner with three wickets was the pick of the Australian bowlers.
In reply, Australia got home with 29 balls to spare and eight wickets in hand. Alyssa Healy who has had a good tournament scored 22 as Ashleigh it was again with the bat as she took Australia over the line and remained unbeaten on 33 and predictably she bagged the Player of the Match award as Alyssa Healy won the Player of the Series award for her consistent show throughout the campaign.
