Australia vs India 1st Test: India captain Virat Kohli did not hold back when his opposite number Tim Paine came out to bat at the score of 120/5. Bumrah had just got rid of Peter Handscomb. Kohli standing at second slip gave Pane an earful trying to unnerve him as Kohli could sense an opening. Kohli got chirpy in the 58th over. While it was unclear what Kohli was saying, but one thing for sure, Paine turned a deaf ear to whatever Kohli had to offer.

Unfortunately, he did not last long as he was out for five runs.

Commentators felt that Paine may have said a thing or two to young Pant and Kohli was returning him the favours.

Earlier, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 for 38 as Australia were restricted to 117 for 4 at tea on day two of the first Test against India. At the break, Peter Handscomb was batting on 33 while Travis Head was unbeaten on 17 runs. Australia still trail by 59 runs, after India made 250 in their first innings.

Post lunch, Ashwin bowled an incisive spell that tied down the Australian batsmen. First up, Shaun Marsh (2) gifted his wicket immediately after the resumption of lunch break. In the very first over, he went for a wild slash against Ashwin, but ended up playing on as Australia were reduced to 59/3.

Usman Khawaja (28) and Handscomb then added 28 runs for the fourth wicket. The latter played some loose strokes at the start of his innings, but got some streaky boundaries off Mohammed Shami (0/26) to help the scoring rate move along.

At the time of filing the copy, Australia was 191/7. Head was batting on 61 along with Starc on eight. Australia trail by 59 runs. The hosts would hope Head can do a Pujara.
