Australia vs India 1st Test: Ravichandran Ashwin picked up his third scalp and probably the biggest of them all when he got Usman Khawaja with an overspin delivery. Ashwin slowed it down a tad and got the off break to kick up off the pitch, Khawaja wasn’t entirely forward to it and ended up getting a faint bit of glove on it. Pant, who took the catch instantly knew it and so did the Indians but it took a DRS to convince Dharmasena. A tiny mark on HotSpot was enough for the third umpire who was rather quick to overturn the on-field call. Khawaja was dismissed for 28 off 125 balls and looked completely set.
Khawaja, stood his ground as Dharmasena was not convinced. Eventually, India git the breakthrough they were after as Australia was reduced to 87/4. The Indian bowlers are bowling well. Ashwin has been the pick of them, he has scalped three already. Earlier, he got the wickets of debutant Marcus Harris for 26 and then Shaun Marsh for two runs.
With Australia trailing by more than 150 runs, it seems India has got their noses in front, but slightly.
Australia are 99/4, and they still look to have their noses in front, but slightly, a couple of more wickets or the wicket of Handscomb could tilt the table. Ashwin has had a hard day under the scorching Adelaide heat, he has already bowled eighteen overs on the trot.
