Australia vs India 2018, 1st Test Day 1: Cheteshwar Pujara once again showed why he is rated in the high-regard by experts and fans alike as far as Test cricket is concerned. With wickets falling at the other end, Puajra played another memorable knock to bail out India from a precarious position of 41/4 to end the day on 250/9 at stumps. He slammed his 16th Test hundred for India during the day one of the opening Test match against Australia at the beautiful Adelaide Oval on Thursday.

The Rajkot-born played some scintillating strokes before his innings (123 runs) was ended by a stunning piece of fielding by Pat Cummins in what proved to be the last over of the day. Pacer Mohammad Shami (6) was at the crease when umpires dislodged the bails for the day. With this knock, Pujara also completed his 5000 Test runs for India and 14000 first-class runs.

As the other Indian batsmen failed to show any fight on day one, Puajra fought the lone battle for the visiting team. His efforts were hailed by several renowned cricket experts over twitter, whereas, fans also praised the 30-year old batsman for his incredible effort in Adelaide.
